Cerratenses: Tribe of Waters 2021
The name of these 12 pieces that compose it synthesizes the biome, whose water veins irrigate big tablelands before they become flowing and give rise to important Brazilian rivers. Born in Goiás, the “land of waters”, the artist has the Cerrado impregnated in her soul. In childhood, the fun was to harvest fruits such as pequi, pitanga, bacubari and gabiroba. Until today, seeds are part of Adeguimar’s food, decoration and jewels. Where she lives in Caldas Novas, she preserves 40 native trees such as Caraíba, yellow ipe, pau-terra, barbatimão and orange of the field, visited by macaws, maracanãs, toucans, hummingbirds and tamarins. In this environment, its jewels are synonymous of Brazil, mixing metals and precious stones with residues of pequi’s wood, aroeira, roxinho, vinhático, as well as rubber, bones, fabrics and natural fibers. In her entirety, her jewel seeks eco-efficiency because she only uses recycled metals, maintains traditional cut-out methods, uses solidary and biodegradable packaging, prioritizes associations of artisans, especially uniparental families. This is her tribute to the nature that surrounds her..
